Project – International Hotel Group
"This is a very clever and flexible solution that we can roll out to our properties throughout the Network irrespective of the variety of their existing infrastructure" Group Procurement Manager, Melbourne, Vic
Client:
International Serviced Apartment Group
Location:
75-room serviced apartment complex
Melbourne, Victoria
Project Summary:
A key metropolitan site was selected as a trial in preparation to a roll out to over 125 properties throughout Australia and the Pacific. The project requires a flexible solution that can accomodate a variety of legacy systems and national networks. The client required a number of customised applications including interactive directory and room-service functionality, and a self-funding advertising capability. Importantly, the system is required to be easy for property managers to update and operate. Facing significant hardware redundancies with the federal Governments analogue television switch-off, the client was looking for an econominical alternative to replacing the entire in-room entertainment equipment.

Swift Networks designed an integrated Digital Services solution including:
- Foxtel and free to air television services with electronic program guide
- Free to air radio services
- Video On Demand (including movies, property directory and locale features)
- VoIP telephony (with capped and integrated billing)
- 2 levels of Internet access – via television and PC access
- Messaging system
- Integration with client premium loyalty card
- Customised Static and Dynamic Content including
- integration of client’s corporate branding
- interactive menu and directory options
- a number of revenue generating advertising solutions
- Ongoing network management and support
- Total project design, engineering and project management
Challenges:
- Optimise existing and legacy systems
- Provide inexpensive solution to analogue television switch-off
Key Outcomes:
The Swift solution exceeds all project parameters and is currently under evaluation.
